The Palliser School Division operates an outreach school in Coaldale that focuses on meeting the emotional and academic needs of individuals who face barriers to learning in a traditional classroom environment. Our Outreach is designed to serve individuals whose educational journeys were disrupted by various factors, including medical conditions, mental health challenges, financial difficulties, or family responsibilities. By removing these barriers, Palliser aims to create an inclusive, supportive environment where every learner feels seen, valued, and empowered to succeed.
We welcome a wide range of students, each working to meet specific needs and goals through a variety of courses. Learning will be self-paced and self-directed with the support and guidance of a certified teacher. The program is designed to be flexible for every student to accommodate their unique needs and schedules.
The mission at our Outreach is to:
- provide access to mental health resources and staff, career counselling, and other essential supports to help students overcome challenges.
- engage students in their learning both online and face-to-face with their peers and teachers so they demonstrate a deep understanding of the Alberta curriculum.
- offer a complete Alberta curriculum so students can complete an Alberta diploma fully online.
